Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location
Asheville, North Carolina
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Projected Start: 06/29/2026 | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1 (up to 5:1 when stretched)
- Perform neurological and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management
- Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, and lumbar drains
- Assist with feeding tube placement and blood transfusions
- Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, Skylift, patient lifts, and Cerner EMR
- Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years of PCU/stepdown experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Demonstrated experience in neuro and trauma care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong background in neuro and trauma care within a progressive care or stepdown setting
- Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery
