Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room
Location
Peoria, IL
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 12-Hour Mid Shifts | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to the elderly across a wide spectrum of acuity levels
- Manage and titrate a variety of critical drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry using Philips monitoring equipment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and a 24/7 house supervisor
- Draw and collect laboratory specimens as required; coordinate with radiology and transport for imaging needs
- Adhere to every-other-weekend rotation and holiday scheduling requirements; float as a help-all to other units on a rare, as-needed basis
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current ENPC or PALS certification
- Current TNCC or TNS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least one prior travel nursing assignment
- SANE RN experience
- Previous experience working in a teaching hospital environment with resident physicians
- Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration in a critical care or emergency setting
