Pros

Small-ish unit with decent acuity, floating is uncommon and requires cross-training, and assignments are not nearly as heavy as some other NYC hospitals ( pretty similar to CA assignments the vast majority of times).

Cons

Many newer RNs on day-shift, strong personalities, and public hospital issues.

Wonderful co-workers, great management.

Cons

Poor staffing ratios, safety of nurses takes a back seat to obtaining Magnet status.
