<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 4x9.5hrs</li><li>Hours: 38 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: May 4, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications, with a mixed patient population including pediatrics and adults across multiple surgical service lines.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Hospital-based PACU setting with 12 rooms and 27 beds, averaging a daily census of 20 patients</li><li>Patient population spans infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults; most pediatric cases involve tonsils, adenoids, and occasional emergency procedures from the ED</li><li>Surgical services include orthopedic, gynecological, urological, general, spine, vascular, and some eye procedures</li><li>Travelers are typically not assigned to infant cases</li><li>Medication management via Omnicell; documentation via Cerner</li><li>Staggered day shifts starting between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM; unit closes at 19:30</li><li>Night call runs from 22:00 to 07:00; weeknight call is every 5th or 6th night based on unit needs</li><li>Weekend on-call requirement of 2–3 forty-eight-hour weekends every 6 weeks</li><li>Occasional float to Pre-Op</li><li>13-week contract</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active MA RN license required</li><li>Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS</li><li>Acute PACU experience required</li><li>Pediatric experience strongly preferred; candidates without it may be screened out</li><li>Cerner EMR experience preferred</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery and providing safe post-anesthesia recovery across multiple surgical specialties</li><li>Pediatric ventilator management is not required, as those cases are managed in the ED and transferred out immediately</li><li>The last two nurses on the schedule each shift stay to recover any late cases or stragglers before close</li><li>Scrubs are provided by the facility</li><li>2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration</li><li>Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration</li><li>All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration</li></ul>
