Strong team of physicians. Staff nurses will accept you as their own.
Cons
4:1 ER ratio, flex to 5 when busy. High acuity due to proximity to neighboring counties without emergency care. This is not an easy ER to work in due to high acuity, imagine 4 icu patients at one time. Often holding/waiting for beds.
CHS is the worst health system to work for in America
Chronically underpaid, understaffed, and undervalued. If it wasn’t for the friends I have made through trauma bonding, I would have left a long time ago. They do not value staff and they will take extreme measures to save money (like running a NICU without neonatal provider coverage). At this particular CHS, this makes us the LOWEST PAID RN in the entire country. Awful.
