RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in the Step Down Unit
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week for 3-12 hour shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday)
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must have been at bedside within the last 6 months
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Must have experience with ventilators, titration of pressors, and insulin drips
• Navy scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Float to lower acuity floors as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Must be proficient with titration of vasopressors (Levophed, Nicardipine), sedation medications, arterial lines, cardiac arrhythmias, chest tubes, and trach ventilated patients
• Special equipment experience required: BiPAP, Opti flow, arterial lines
• Handle patients in high acuity step-down unit serving as bridge from ICU
• Work with interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Rapid Response Teams
• Must be comfortable with external pacemakers, tracheostomy care, and blood product administration

Facility:

This 233-bed acute care hospital operates a high acuity step-down unit that serves as an essential bridge between ICU and general medical floors. The facility maintains modern equipment and comprehensive support services including dedicated respiratory therapists, rapid response teams, and 24/7 specialty services. The step-down unit features 29 beds with a daily census of approximately 25 patients, providing advanced cardiac and medical care with state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities.
