Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery role requiring TN or compact licensure, advanced L&D skills, and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Women's Services Labor & Delivery unit with 20 LDRP rooms and 5 OB assessment beds
• Patient ratios include 1:3-4 couplets, 1:1 for active labor, VBAC, laboring magnesium sulfate or insulin patients, and 1:1-2 for triage or early labor cases
• Specialized equipment includes GE fetal monitors and Novii monitors
• Documentation is performed using CPN and Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• No floating required
• Unit is supported by secretaries on weekdays, 24/7 OB scrub techs, and PCTs during early mornings
• Perform vaginal deliveries, versions, C-sections, epidurals, postpartum tubal ligations, cerclage removals, and circumcisions
• Bedside shift report is required every shift
• Unit features innovative technology and a focus on improving nurse workload and patient outcomes
• Dress code requires shocking pink scrubs
• Recognized as a unit of distinction in 2021
• Scheduling preferences are considered through Timpani

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, Stable, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Intermediate fetal monitoring and triage experience required
• Advanced skills in couplet care and circulating in the OR are necessary
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
