Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a TN or compact RN license and specialized certifications in fetal monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit within Women's Services
• The unit features 20 LDRP beds and 5 OB assessment beds
• Patient ratios are 1:3-4 for couplets, 1:1 for all active labors, VBACs, laboring patients on magnesium sulfate or insulin, and 1:1-2 for triage or early labor
• Uses GE fetal monitors and Novii equipment
• Documentation is completed in CPN and Meditech systems
• Day shifts from 7:00AM to 7:00PM
• No floating required
• Care includes vaginal deliveries, versions, C-sections, epidurals, postpartum tubals, cerclage removal, and circumcisions
• Support staff includes a unit secretary (Monday–Friday), patient care tech (Monday–Friday early morning), and 24/7 access to OB scrub techs
• Pink scrubs (shocking pink) are required as the unit dress code
• Bedside shift report is expected every shift
• The unit is a pilot site for innovative solutions focused on improving nurse workload and patient outcomes
• Recognized as an HCA unit of distinction in 2021

Requirements

• Active TN or compact state RN license
• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., and AWHONN Intermediate fetal monitoring
• Triage experience and advanced skills in couplet care and OR circulating required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Required documentation includes state board license verification, SSN, and proof of certifications
