Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric CVICU position on night shift requiring at least one year of CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting and an active OK or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Cardiac Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a hospital
- Pediatric cardiovascular critical care patient population
- Level I trauma environment with high acuity cases
- Night shift schedule, five 8-hour shifts per week
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Responsibilities include caring for pediatric CVICU patients, documenting interventions, assisting with minor diagnostic procedures, and medication administration
- Will interact with patients and families to communicate care plans and hospital procedures
- Delegation of tasks to support staff is expected
- Must be able to respond to diverse cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Returning travelers may extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which there must be a 6-month separation before returning
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting is required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required; BSN or higher preferred
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills
