Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position at a Level III Trauma Center in Oshkosh, WI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience and the ability to take call.

• Work in a 2-room Cardiac Cath Lab (1 EP/Cath room, 1 dedicated Cath Lab) within a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
• Patient population includes diagnostic and interventional cath procedures via femoral and radial approach, IFR, FFR, and balloon pumps, as well as EP procedures including pacemakers, AICDs, loop recorders, diagnostic EP, and right-sided ablations
• Average of 4 cases per day
• This is a 24/7, 365 STEMI program
• 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
• Floating limited to between rooms within the department and the pre-op area
• Weekend rotation is call-based; if on call for a weekend, coverage spans from end of shift Friday through Monday morning
• Weekday on-call hours run 1700–0630; travelers should expect approximately 50% call per month, including multiple nights per week
• Holiday coverage required and is call-based
• Epic EMR; prior experience preferred
• Equipment includes Maclab hemodynamic system, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE C-arms, and Manifold contrast delivery

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
• Experience with EP procedures (pacemakers, AICDs, loop recorders, ablations) required
• Critical care experience (ED or ICU) required
• Experience with balloon pumps and temporary pacers required
• Ability to take call required
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year required for consideration
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for scrub and circulating roles across diagnostic and interventional cardiac and EP cases
• Travelers will not be expected to independently monitor hemodynamic cases on Maclab
• Department support includes a receptionist/HUC, respiratory therapy, and hospitalist coverage
• Strong communication skills, ability to work within interdisciplinary teams, and willingness to teach and educate others are highly valued in this role
• Scrubs are provided; lead aprons are available but candidates are encouraged to bring their own
