Description
American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARRT(N) or NMTCB(CNMT) certification for a 13-week travel contract at a short-term acute care teaching hospital.
Details
- Short-term acute care teaching hospital setting with 402 staffed beds
- Nuclear Medicine department performing a range of diagnostic imaging procedures including HIDA scans, bone scans, lung scans, and thyroid studies
- Equipment includes GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba systems
- Charting performed in Cerner
- 5x8 hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility should contact American Traveler regarding local rates
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience required
- Current ARRT(N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification required
- Current BLS required
- At least 1 year of hospital-based experience preferred
- Proficiency with GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba imaging equipment
- Experience with HIDA scans, bone scans, lung scans, and thyroid studies
- Ability to start and maintain peripheral IVs
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
- Strong foundational knowledge of nuclear medicine theory, techniques, radiation safety practices, and complex Molecular Imaging procedures
- Ability to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations with strong communication skills
- License required if applicable
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the 2-year minimum experience requirement
- Perform specialized and complex Molecular Imaging procedures in addition to routine nuclear medicine studies
- 13-week contract assignment
