Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ACU/CCU (ICU) position at a community hospital in Yakima, WA, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work setting is a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with an 11-bed ICU
- Unit is the ACU/CCU, a combined acute care and critical care unit
- Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients, and select surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
- Procedures and skills include chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, monitoring femoral arterial sheaths (travelers do not pull sheaths), blood product administration, and BiPAP management
- Common drips include diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin
- Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and/or IABP
- EMR is Epic
- Schedule is 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to Telemetry, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required (pending license with proof of application date acceptable)
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Proficiency with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring
- Epic EMR experience
- 2 references required prior to start date (supervisor-level or above: Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, etc.); 1 reference acceptable at time of consideration
