Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Psychiatric RN for an evening shift position at a behavioral health hospital in Holyoke, MA, requiring one year of inpatient psych experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health hospital setting specializing in psychiatric and co-occurring substance use treatment
• Adolescent and adult psychiatric patient population
• Float position requiring willingness to move to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Charge nurse responsibilities included

Requirements

• Active MA RN license currently in hand
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric experience required
• BSN preferred
• Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems required
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and crisis management skills
• Ability to develop therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries

• Provide direct and indirect patient care within a multidisciplinary treatment team framework
• Contribute to individualized treatment plans by developing, implementing, and documenting goals and interventions informed by patient strengths and presenting psychiatric issues
• Care is grounded in a Trauma Informed Recovery model
• 84-bed inpatient facility with a collaborative, non-judgmental team environment
• Charge nurse duties are expected and included in the standard rate — no additional multiplier
