Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a dual-modality CT and X-ray role at an orthopedic specialty hospital in Manhattan, requiring ARRT (R & CT), NYS licensure, IV Certification, and Siemens equipment experience.
Details
- Orthopedic specialty hospital inpatient and outpatient setting in Manhattan, NY
- Dual-modality role performing both CT scans and X-rays
- Daily caseload of up to 20 patients across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Orthopedic exams performed in exam room settings and via portable equipment
- CT procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
- X-ray procedures include extremities, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, and musculoskeletal imaging
- Experience with inpatient, outpatient, ER, and adult ICU work settings required
- Regular schedule is 4x9-hour evening shifts, Wednesday through Saturday, 2:30 PM to midnight (with a 30-minute lunch)
- First two weeks of the assignment require Tuesday through Friday day shifts from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM for training
- Candidate may be rotated across multiple departments within the hospital or to an affiliated off-site location across the street
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience
- Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications required
- Active NYS license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS and IV Certification required
- Siemens equipment experience required
- Experience with portable X-ray equipment required
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 lbs, with or without assistive devices
- COVID vaccination required — no exceptions
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Charcoal grey scrubs required
- A two-week daytime training period (Tuesday–Friday, 8:30 AM–6:00 PM) precedes the regular evening schedule — no RTO is permitted during this period
- RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for the duration of the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former staff must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Complimentary parking is available in an assigned employee garage upon badge pickup; street parking is also available
