Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of experience and the ability to float to any area of the hospital.
Details
- Hospital-based position on a 3rd Floor Overflow/Med-Surg unit
- Patient population includes a variety of cases ranging from simple to complex acuity
- Med/Surg and step-down experience required; may be floated to any area of the hospital
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg and step-down experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates
- Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, and collaborating with physicians
- Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans and hospital procedures, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
- Previous workers at this facility who have reached 26 cumulative weeks must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background check, medical documentation) must be completed on time — start dates will not be pushed for non-compliance
