Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position on a 3rd Floor Overflow unit, requiring at least one year of RN experience and the ability to float to any area of the hospital.

• Hospital-based position on a 3rd Floor Overflow/Medicine Specialty unit
• Med/Surg and Step-Down experience required for this role
• Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be from AHA
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing an assigned patient group, including documenting responses to nursing interventions, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and managing IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks of total tenure before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced; candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding requirements immediately upon acceptance of an offer
