Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT-CV certification for a fast-paced diagnostic cath lab setting.

Details

• Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 3 rooms and 5 beds
• Average daily census of 8-10 patients
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Cases include diagnostic cath, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella insertion, and device implants (no EP studies or ablations)
• Uses GE Discovery imaging equipment, IABP, Impella, and CSI systems
• Charting/unit systems include Epic (required) and Pyxis, with Merge preferred
• Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• 10 call days per month
• Floating required within the department and facility, with possible floating to a sister campus

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required, including scrubbing heart caths and devices
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• RCIS, RCES, or ARRT-CV certification required
• ARRT-R certification preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• GA or compact RN license required at time of submission if applicable
• Epic experience required
• Experience with EKG monitoring, obtaining vitals, and rhythm interpretation including sinus node rhythms required
• Pacemaker experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, and maintaining sterile fields while scrubbing procedures
• May also room circulate as needed
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 major holidays occurring during the assignment; if 3 holidays occur, one may be requested off
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position
• Returning employees or travelers must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before reapplying as a traveler
