Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a multi-specialty ICU position in Boston, MA, requiring an active MA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• 38-bed multi-specialty ICU (28+10 beds) in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Telemetry monitoring is a core part of the role, including independent reading and interpretation of rhythm strips

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN ICU experience required
• Telemetry experience required, including the ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Nursing degree required: Diploma or ASN accepted; BSN preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above, one must be within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years; references from other travelers are not accepted

Additional Information

• Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (Test A or B) prior to placement; the test may only be taken twice
• A telemetry test is administered on Day 1 of the assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
• Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating ICU patients
• Collaborates with an inter-professional team, coordinates and delegates patient care activities, and communicates with patients and their families
• Assists the nursing leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed
