Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for an Ambulatory Operating Room position requiring a SC or Compact RN license, BLS, and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.
Details
- Ambulatory Operating Room setting with 9 ORs
- Specialty experience preferred in Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, and Surgical Oncology
- Schedule options: 3x12-hour shifts (6:30a–7p) or 4x10-hour shifts (6:30a–5p); one late week per 4-week period to complete cases
- Day shift position with no weekend requirements
- No on-call required
- Floating within the Periop facility is a possibility
- Epic EMR is used at this facility
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have active licensure prior to start
- AHA BLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
- A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the staffing agency
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of profile consideration; approval is based on facility needs
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- May be required to precept a care team member in the operating room
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
