Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring tele monitoring skills and a CO or compact RN license.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting, 24-bed unit
- 5:1 patient ratios
- Day shift staffing includes charge, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs; night shift includes charge, 4-5 RNs, and 2 PCTs
- Uses tele monitoring and post-op monitoring equipment
- EMR: Meditech / CPN
- Cares for post-op recovery patients from surgery and cath lab, including post-op ortho spine and joint patients
- Patient population includes elective ortho, spine, and GYN surgery cases as well as elective cath lab procedures (post-PCI, post-pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, revascularization)
- Also manages stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure patients
- Set rate (non-titrating) cardiac drips except heparin
- Shift schedule: 7A-7P
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or compact) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience required
- Cardiac experience preferred
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
