Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 2 Labor & Delivery position in Dubuque, IA, requiring at least 24 months of L&D experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a Level 2 maternal/neonatal center
- Unit includes a 16-bed maternity unit, 12-bed nursery, 4-bed NICU, C-section suite, and overflow rooms
- Patient population includes antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU patients
- Patient ratios: Labor 1:1, postpartum 1:2, NICU 2:1
- Delivery volume of approximately 50–60 births per month
- Administers and titrates drips including glucose, magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
- Night shift, 3x12s (36 hrs/week)
- Every 4th weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), NRP, STABLE, and Intermediate or Advanced EFM/Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate
- Minimum 24 months of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience within the last 15 months required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience administering and titrating glucose, magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin required
- Nursery and/or Mother-Baby experience preferred
- NICU experience preferred
- Postpartum experience is a plus
- Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years preferred
- Valid driver's license required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Any past employee of UPH (FTE or PRN float pool) within the past 12 months is not eligible, regardless of which UPH facility they worked at
- Previous UPH travel (non-FTE/PRN) assignments are not subject to this restriction
- Holiday rotation required — travelers are expected to work 1–2 of the following summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the required travel experience
