Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a radiology CT scanning unit, requiring ARRT RT(R) and RT(CT) certifications along with an active NJ license.
Details
- Acute care hospital radiology department, CT scanning unit with 3 scanning rooms (CT 1, 2, and 3)
- Patient population includes routine, emergent, and trauma cases requiring CT imaging
- Venipuncture and power injector procedures are included in the role
- Schedule is 3x13-hour night shifts, Sunday through Wednesday, 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- On-call is required as part of this assignment
- May float to other nearby sister hospital locations
- Uses Epic for charting
- PACS/RIS system used for image acquisition, processing, and verification
Requirements
- ARRT RT(R) and ARRT RT(CT) certifications required
- Active NJ State X-Ray License (NJDEP) required — license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from an accredited School of Radiography or college-based Radiography program
- Venipuncture experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include preparing and performing CT procedures per established protocols, including contrast administration, venipuncture, and power injector use
- Technologist is responsible for screening patients for allergies and medication incompatibilities prior to contrast injection, and monitoring patient condition before and after injection
- When assigned as Point staff, responsibilities include triaging the daily schedule, coordinating emergent and unscheduled procedures, and managing workflow across the unit
- Code Grey, Trauma, and Partial Trauma cases require immediate image acquisition, processing, and transmission via PACS/RIS, with prompt radiologist notification
- Technologist is responsible for daily supply inventory, stocking, and maintenance of CT rooms and equipment, including routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table, and peripheral equipment after each use
- QA/QC requirements must be maintained per daily, monthly, and ACR specifications
- All unusual findings must be reported to the radiologist to ensure optimal patient care
