Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring PCU experience and CO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (2 North, Main Building) of a hospital environment
- 24-bed unit staffed with a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs per shift
- Patient ratio of 5:1
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient population includes post-op recovery (surgical and cath lab), post-op ortho (spine, joint), elective ortho, spine, and GYN surgeries
- Cares for elective cath lab procedures including post-PCI, post-pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, and re-vascularization patients
- Manages stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure cases
- Administers set-rate cardiac drips (non-titrating except heparin)
- Uses telemetry and post-op monitoring equipment
- EMR system is Meditech / CPN, prior experience preferred
- Modified self-scheduling process with schedules posted 3 weeks in advance
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
- Cardiac experience preferred
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Work on a brand-new, state-of-the-art unit featuring ADA/Bari rooms with in-room Hoyer lifts

- Friendly, outgoing personality and teamwork orientation are ideal fits for this unit
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as no local candidates are accepted
