Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring PCU experience and CO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (2 North, Main Building) of a hospital environment
• 24-bed unit staffed with a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs per shift
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient population includes post-op recovery (surgical and cath lab), post-op ortho (spine, joint), elective ortho, spine, and GYN surgeries
• Cares for elective cath lab procedures including post-PCI, post-pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, and re-vascularization patients
• Manages stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure cases
• Administers set-rate cardiac drips (non-titrating except heparin)
• Uses telemetry and post-op monitoring equipment
• EMR system is Meditech / CPN, prior experience preferred
• Modified self-scheduling process with schedules posted 3 weeks in advance

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
