Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU (ACU/CCU) position requiring a WA or compact license and at least one prior travel assignment for holiday coverage.
Details
- Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
- Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, and post-cath patients with femoral sheaths (travelers will not pull sheaths)
- Also cares for surgical patients including vascular, abdominal, and GI cases
- Manages drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
- Uses Epic EMR
- 12-hour day and night shifts (0700-1930 and 1900-0730)
- 36 hours per week
- 19-week contract for holiday coverage
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to Telemetry, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required
- Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths required
- Art line, Impella, and/or IABP experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for a diverse ICU population including cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical patients
- Professional scrubs of any color permitted
- First-time travelers will not be considered; candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
