Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring 3 years of L&D experience and MD or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit averaging 450 births per month
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00), with potential for 4x12 schedules
- 13-week contract assignment
- Fast-paced birthing center environment
- Uses Epic charting system with test-out option available
- Floating required within scope of practice
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) required in-hand
- Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required (2 years considered if from high-volume/high-acuity facility with 300+ births monthly)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- AWHONN certifications (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and labor and delivery management
- Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock management preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- One reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn assessments
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Support high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients including couplet care and multiple births
- Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
- Utilize fetal monitoring equipment including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- Manage pain interventions including epidural anesthesia and PCA pumps
- No mile radius rule for eligibility
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Maximum of 10 days RTO per 13-week contract, with preference against RTO during the first week
- Returning staff must wait 6 months before returning as a traveler, with case-by-case review within 1 year
- First-time travelers not considered for this position based on facility preference
