Description
American Traveler is hiring a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a Neuro Diagnostics/Respiratory Care position requiring an active NY license and RRT certification with at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Work in a community hospital setting within the Respiratory Care Practitioner unit
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment length
- Patient ratio of 1:20
- Required to float between LTC and acute care settings
- Utilizes Epic EMR (preferred experience)
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required in hand
- Current BLS and RRT certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Long term care experience is a plus
- Skilled in oxygen therapy, bag and mask ventilation, ET tube management, HFNC, T-piece, and trach collar use
- Proficient in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, and suctioning techniques
- Skilled in tracheostomy care and management
- Experience with nebulizer treatments (hand held, T-piece, trach collar)
- Candidates must not have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO)
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care including airway management, ventilator management, and suctioning across critical care and emergency department settings
- Perform sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care as part of daily responsibilities
- Floating required between long-term care and acute care units
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Previous employees may be considered for rehire after a 6-month system-wide waiting period
- Background checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Foreign education credentials, if applicable, will need to be verified
