Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring ICU experience and proficiency with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac support devices.
Details
- 16-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting
- Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
- RN-only staffing model with no HUC or PCT support
- Uses ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment
- Documentation completed in Cerner
- 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM-7:15 AM)
- Alternating weekend requirement
- Travelers may be required to float to all areas
- Unit performs procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact)
- BLS certification required
- 1 year of recent CVICU or relevant ICU experience required
- CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications preferred but not required
- NIH Stroke Certification required for CVICU RNs per facility policy
- Skilled in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation required
- Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation required
- Experience with transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE, and chest tube management required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide advanced cardiovascular critical care to a high-acuity ICU population
- Uniform must be all navy or navy and white scrubs; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs unless soiled at work
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered
