Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool RN for a night shift role requiring an active AZ or compact RN license, 2 years of experience, and the ability to titrate cardiac drips.
Details
- Level 1 trauma, acute care hospital setting with a Tele/MedSurg/CV/Neuro float pool assignment
- Floats between CV Tele, Neuro Tele, and two MedSurg units, and may float between two campuses located 9 miles apart
- Notification of unit and campus assignment given 1.5 hours prior to shift start, with mid-shift floating possible
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-4 on telemetry units and 1:4 on MedSurg units
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Centralized telemetry monitoring requiring RN interpretation of EKGs
- Weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period plus 2 of 3 major holidays
- Considered first to float within the unit
Requirements
- Active AZ or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- BSN not required for this position
- Must be able to titrate cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing, with a maximum of 2 attempts
- Must pass a Sim Lab competency test on the first day of orientation
- Two professional references required, including one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years, both with employment dates and rehire eligibility
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across CV Tele, Neuro Tele, and MedSurg units including post cath lab, post vascular, day 2 CABG, general telemetry, neuro post-surgical, spine, and post-TPA CVA patients
- MedSurg units support surgical, oncology, and orthopedic patients including an accredited joint replacement program
- Charge nurses and PCTs provide floor support, with RT and pharmacy services available 24/7
- 2 days of floor-specific orientation provided per unit
- Navy scrub color required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to meet local residency requirements
- Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity Health, within the past year
