Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a community hospital setting
• Care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients with 1:6 patient ratio
• Utilizes cardiac monitoring for dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7PM-7AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed within scope
• 13-week contract with block scheduling allowed

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required (candidates with 1 year may be considered)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Two professional references from a supervisor completed within the last two years required for consideration
• Current COVID vaccination card required for consideration
• Nursys report pulled within the last 7 days required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team coordination
• Float within the hospital as needed based on scope of practice
• Candidates with minor background infractions may be considered
• Local candidates will not be accepted
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former staff must have been separated for at least one year and in good standing to reapply, and cannot be local
• First-time travelers accepted with prior travel nursing experience
• Travel pairs will not be considered for PCU and CCU positions
