Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a Float Pool position requiring 3 years of Level 1 Trauma experience and a compact or OK RN license.
Details
- Float Pool position covering multiple pediatric units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
- Also floats to acute care areas such as surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem-onc, cardiac peds, and step-down units
- May float to NICU but only for feeder-grower, low-acuity patients (not traditional NICU care)
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- BLS and PALS certification through the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 3 years Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Experience with tracheostomy care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion management required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Additional Information
- Provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric patients across multiple specialty units
- Administers medications, monitors IV infusions and blood products, and documents patient responses to treatment
- Collaborates with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatment plans
- Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Extensions limited to one time for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly to avoid start date delays
