Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a Float Pool position requiring 3 years of Level I trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric acute and critical care units.

Details

• Float Pool position covering pediatric acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem onc, step down, and cardiac peds
• May float to 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
• NICU floats limited to low acuity feeder-grower patients, not traditional NICU care
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekends and holidays required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• PALS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• 3 years of Level I trauma experience required
• Experience with trach care, hi-flow oxygen, and infusion therapy required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a variety of pediatric patients ranging from simple to complex health problems
• Assess, monitor, and document patient responses to treatments and interventions
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products as prescribed
• Collaborate with physicians on examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments
• Communicate care plans and hospital procedures to patients and families
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
• Returning travelers may extend only once for a maximum of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
