Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a PICU position requiring 2-3 years of experience including at least 1 year in PICU or Pediatric CVICU.
Details
- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Patient population includes pediatric critical care and NICU patients
- Uses ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and high frequency jet/oscillator ventilation
- Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Administers Nitric Oxide (iNO) and interprets Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
- Epic EMR experience required
- 3x12 hour shifts, both day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) shifts available
- 50/50 rotation between day and night shifts based on department needs
- Every other weekend required
- 36 hours per week, 3x12 schedule only
Requirements
- RRT credential required, CRT not accepted
- Pending MA license acceptable
- BLS certification required
- PALS certification preferred
- 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in PICU or Pediatric CVICU
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including bubble CPAP and pressure/volume ventilators
- License required if applicable
- 2 verified professional references required from 2 of the last 3 places worked, from different facilities
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to critically ill pediatric patients in a teaching hospital setting
- Manage mechanical ventilation and perform weaning as needed
- Troubleshoot high pressure alarms on ventilator equipment
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a different rate
