Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night-shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care teaching hospital with Level I trauma designation
- Patient ratio of 1:4/5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to areas of greatest need, potentially including nearby affiliate hospitals
- No on-call requirements
- Standard med/surg-tele equipment used, including Liko lifts in most patient rooms
- Cerner charting system used, experience preferred
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license (pending accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- BSN preferred
- 2 years of RN experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Strong MS/Tele experience required; ICU/PCU experience a plus
Additional Information
- Deliver nursing care to a med/surg-tele patient population, including cardiac, respiratory, neuro, ortho, and renal cases
- Position is part of a flex pool, so openness to floating across units and facilities is essential
- Candidates should be well-rounded and comfortable adapting to varied patient care needs
- RTO requests require unit manager approval
- Any scrub color permitted for RNs
- Free parking available onsite
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted
- Previous employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Holiday coverage required for at least 2 of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
