Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring a CO or compact license, PCU experience, and NIH Stroke certification.
Details
- Work on a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit
- Day shift staffing includes a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs; night shift includes a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2 PCTs
- Patient ratio of 5:1
- Cares for post-op recovery patients from surgical and cath lab procedures, including ortho, spine, and joint cases
- Patient population includes elective ortho, spine, and GYN surgeries, elective cath lab procedures (post PCI, post pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, revascularization), stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure
- Uses telemetry monitoring and post-op monitoring equipment
- Set-rate cardiac drips used (non-titrating except heparin)
- Uses Meditech / CPN EMR
- 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience required
- Cardiac experience preferred
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required

- Modified self-scheduling process with schedules posted 3 weeks in advance, allowing time for shift trades
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
