Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring NIH, ACLS, and BLS certifications along with at least one year of experience and one completed travel assignment.
Details
- Medical Surgical Combination unit within an acute care hospital setting
- 48-bed unit with a 1:6 patient ratio and high patient turnover
- 7A-7P shift schedule with every other weekend required
- Rare floating to inpatient rehab or ER on an as-needed basis
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Paragon EHR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment
- Must be able to start IVs, insert foley catheters, and insert NG tubes
- Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips required
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratios and high patient turnover preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical Surgical unit within a Joint Commission accredited hospital
- Facility features the region's largest and most comprehensive ED and Free Standing ED along with an advanced ICU and PCU
- Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
