Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Details
- 36-bed inpatient medicine tele unit providing care to a diverse patient population facing acute and chronic medical diagnoses
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00, various days of the week
- Patient ratios of 1:5 day shift and 1:6 night shift, with ratios able to flex up based on staffing and unit needs
- On-call required per unit needs
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within the Metro region
- Epic charting system used
- Navy scrubs required
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience required
- Comfort and prior experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with medication administration including heparin and insulin
- Experience with respiratory care including high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
Additional Information
- Provide high quality medical and nursing care to patients with acute and chronic medical diagnoses on a tele unit
- Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
- First-time travelers accepted as long as experience requirements are met
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with RTO blocked during several specified periods
- No blocked scheduling requests permitted
- Local candidates considered, with a reduced bill rate applying for candidates living less than 75 miles from the facility
- Previous UCHealth employees may be ineligible for consideration based on facility DNU policy
- Travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
