Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered CT Technologist for a weekend shift assignment requiring ARRT(CT) certification and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Performs X-ray and fluoroscopy procedures, including OR coverage
- Operates CT scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs for diagnostic purposes
- Positions and immobilizes patients using supportive devices per Radiologist protocols
- Administers oral and/or IV contrast media as ordered
- Enters scan parameters such as slice thickness and scan time into scanner computer
- Monitors patient safety and comfort via intercom and control room window
- Weekend shift schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday 3x12s
Requirements
- Active state license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
- ARRT(CT) certification required
- BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Graduate of an AMA-approved radiology technology training program
- Must be able to move and lift patients and equipment ranging from 40-250 lbs with assistance
- Manual dexterity required to start an IV
- Ability to verbally communicate with patients and respond to equipment alarms
Additional Information
- Responsible for Quality Control within the CT area
- Assists in performing special procedures and administering contrast media
- Transports patients according to physical ability and exam requirements
- Maintains records and cleans exam rooms following each procedure
- Restocks linens and supplies as needed
- Practices sterile technique and Universal Precautions
