Opportunity:
RN - Neuro Tele
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 weekend shifts required per 8 weeks
• Holidays worked into permanent holiday rotation based on unit coverage
• 1:4 patient ratio on a 48-bed Neuro Telemetry unit
• Float to telemetry units and telemetry overflow in ICU as needed
• 2 days of floor-specific orientation provided
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
• Must be able to interpret EKGs with central monitoring telemetry
• Common diagnoses include CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, trached patients, encephalopathy, ESRD, psych issues, and brain tumors
• Charge nurse responsibilities available with light patient assignment
• Bedside reporting required
• Must have Level 1 Trauma experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; neuro experience highly preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must pass Day 1 SIMs Lab including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion (pass/fail)
• Must maintain sterile field competency
• Must have own vehicle
• Natural hair color required; no facial piercings permitted
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Scrub color: Steel gray
• Charting system: Cerner with WOWs
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility (driver's license used as source of truth)

This acute care facility operates a fast-paced Neuro Telemetry unit with 48 beds and maintains a high standard of patient care with a strong support structure. The facility offers 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, a SWAT RN team for difficult IV access, and central telemetry monitoring. The organization emphasizes clinical competency and maintains rigorous orientation standards to ensure quality care for a complex neurological patient population.
