Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Stroke Stepdown Unit. This position is crucial for managing the care of patients recovering from strokes and other medical conditions. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
This is a Night shift position from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing, specifically with stroke stepdown experience.
- Current RN license with active New York Licensure and all active RN licenses.
- Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are required (NIHSS can be obtained prior to start).
- Travel experience is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with stroke and other medical conditions.
- Utilize specialty equipment including IV pumps and feeding tubes.
- Coordinate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Monitor and document patient conditions in an electronic medical records system (EPIC).
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
