Job Description

The CT Technologist will be responsible for providing diagnostic imaging services while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role involves various duties related to the preparation and execution of CT scans.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and confirm exam details before initiating scans.
• Collaborate with physicians to facilitate effective diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety.
• Insert IVs when required and position patients appropriately, adhering to safe handling practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in the EPIC system, ensuring proper image identification and transmission to the PACS system.
• Ensure the scanning facility remains clean and safe for patient use.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure must be obtained prior to starting the position.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification for administering injections is preferred; willingness to complete during orientation is necessary.
• Experience with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must possess a patient and compassionate disposition.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player to maintain a positive working environment.
