Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Rehabilitation
Location
- Madison, Wisconsin

- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit with 49 beds
- Adult patients requiring inpatient rehabilitation services with high acuity needs
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 7 patients
- Unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit with high acuity
Schedule & Shift Details
- 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotations required
- Call requirements apply
- Mandatory 30-minute unpaid break per shift plus two paid 15-minute breaks
- Staff must adhere to attendance and tardy policies
- No overtime without supervisor approval
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Job Responsibilities & Environment
- Provide nursing care in a free-standing acute inpatient rehabilitation facility
- Assist with patient mobility using equipment such as ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards
- Use vital sign machines, EKG, blood glucose monitors, and EPIC electronic health record system
- Support nursing assistants and respond promptly to patient call lights to ensure safety
- May be required to float to a satellite inpatient rehab facility within 20 minutes in the near future
