Description
Labor and Delivery RN
Overview
- Travel/contract role in San Francisco, California
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of experience in OB
- 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- Experience with Epic
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist
- Full 7-year work history in the application, including city and state for each location
- Employment gaps over 30 days must be explained
- Background check and other pre-start screening/documentation requirements apply
- TB screening and annual renewal required
- Fit test required within 1 year of start and annually thereafter
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Drug screen required within 6 months of start
- Flu vaccination documentation required during flu season unless exempt
- Color vision deficiency, if present, must be documented by an in-person exam before start
Job Duties
- Assess, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate nursing care in an acute patient setting
- Provide direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
- Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care
- Maintain collaborative communication with patients, families/support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers
