Job Description
- Position: IV Therapy Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: 1x12 hour shift (7:00pm - 7:30am) and 3x8 hour shifts (11:00pm - 7:30am)
- Unit: IV Therapy
- Patient Population: All ages (Neonatal, Infant, Pediatrics, Adult, Geriatrics)
- EMR System: EPIC
- Floating: Not required
- Rotating Shifts: Day shifts are rotating
Core IV Therapy Skills/Competencies Required:
- Peripheral IV insertion
- CVAD (Central Venous Access Device) dressing change
- Non-tunneled CVAD removal
- Reconstitution, instillation, and removal of thrombolytic agents
- Accessing and de-accessing implanted ports
- Repositioning peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC)
- Ultrasound-guided IV line insertion
Required Qualifications
- License: Active Massachusetts RN License
- Certifications: AHA BLS (American Heart Association Basic Life Support) only (No Red Cross accepted)
- Education: BSN preferred
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working in IV/Venous Access team
- Skill Set: IV insertion, Ultrasound-guided IVs, PICC line insertion
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Additional Requirements
- N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite fit testing)
- Passing MGB Medication Exam within 365 days (80% passing score)
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity
- Influenza vaccine (required during flu season, no exemptions)
- TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity (strongly preferred)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date
- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, National Sex Offender Check, and exclusion list checks
- Documentation of 7 years of work experience and education history
- Two professional references within 4 years (minimum one supervisor)
- Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required

This is a travel RN position specializing in IV therapy with night shifts in Salem, MA.
