Registered Nurse - Psychiatric (Float, Days)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with psychiatric experience to provide direct and indirect care to patients in a behavioral health setting. The role involves maintaining a safe therapeutic environment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Includes every other weekend and every other holiday
• Must be willing to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care grounded in behavioral health principles
• Participate actively in the healthcare team
• Help develop, implement, and document patient treatment goals and interventions
• Maintain professional boundaries while developing therapeutic relationships
• Manage crisis situations and contribute to a safe therapeutic milieu

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required
• CPR certification required
• Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred
• Ability to use critical thinking and nursing process within a trauma-informed recovery model
• Effective communication and computer skills (including Electronic Medical Record use)
• Skills in crisis management, time management, delegation, coaching, and team building
• Flexibility and ability to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally
