Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: 5 West Medicine
- Number of Beds: 36
- Number of Staff: 50+
- Shift Staffing (Day): 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, 1-2 sitters
- Shift Staffing (Night): 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, 1-2 sitters
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- Day RN: 1:5-6
- Night RN: 1:6-7
- Equipment: Medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), VC150 devices in every patient room, workstations on wheels, Tap and Go computer access
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a telemetry unit with a focus on medical-surgical patients.
- Prepare patients for procedures such as Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Operating Room (OR).
- Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment requiring compassion and hard work.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
- Recent experience (within the last year) in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy blue bottom, or all white
- Floating Areas: Med-Surg units 3W, 5W, K8 (sister units)
- Weekend Requirement: Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift)
