    Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

    Location: Burlingame, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Provide support to Obstetricians, surgical scrub techs, registered nurses, and Charge Nurses in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting.
    • Perform patient assessment, monitoring, and communication under supervision of a Charge Nurse.
    • Follow local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety.
    • May mentor and train students.

    Shift Details

    • Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
    • Every other weekend required
    • No on-call duties

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year, including Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Background and Screening Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
    • Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
    • Professional references: 2 for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates; 1 for per diem non-acute care

    Health and Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared for work
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
    • Immunizations and/or titers required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT within 90 days or 2-step PPD) with annual renewal
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive IGG titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
      • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, completed series, or signed declination
      • Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
      • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
    • Drug testing and respiratory safety clearance required prior to start

    Competency and Documentation

    • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
    • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required
    • Photo for badge (passport-style) required
    • Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start
    • TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually

    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.

    • Religious exemptions for facial hair (PAPR) or vaccines require approval and specific documentation.
