Job Opportunity: Adult Psych RN

Location

• Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Unit Description

• 30-bed adult psychiatric unit
• Patient age range: 18 to 65 years
• Patient conditions include anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dual diagnosis (including detox), and some medically acute patients (IVs, CPAPs, wound care, diabetic care)

Schedule

• Rotating shifts for Day Rotate position: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a
• Rotation occurs every other week (EOW)
• No more than 2-3 shifts per time block (4-week blocks)
• Night shifts do not rotate

Patient Ratio

• 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

• EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with adult patients in an inpatient setting
• Experience in charge nurse roles
• Proficient in using an automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross

Certifications and Health Requirements (must be current)

• BLS (AHA)
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 1 year, updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required)
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
• TB test (skin or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 1 year, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid lists)
• Education verification of highest level achieved
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year
• Resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two professional references within 4 years (minimum one supervisor-level)

Additional Information

• Floating to other units may be required
• On-site training available for AVADE and lead EKG
• Must comply with all credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to start
