    Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Santa Rosa, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)
    • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
    • Hours per Week: 36 hours
    • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
    • Orientation: 36 hours
    • Scheduling: 4x12 shifts available upon request
    • Floating: Required to float between like units
    • Locals: Not accepted
    • Pending License: Not accepted
    • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

    Required Experience and Certifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including Post Partum experience
    • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • AWHONN Intermediate
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
    • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

    Required Licenses

    • NURSYS verification required as applicable

    Health and Safety Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
    • Immunizations/vaccinations:
      • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
      • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
    • 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start

    Background and Verification Requirements

    • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Education verification required for nursing degree
    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
    • Work history verification required if reference exceptions are requested

    Additional Requirements

    • Float policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
    • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
    • Epic training modules required (completion within a week of orientation)
    • Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel nurses)

    Notes

    • First-time travelers accepted
    • Block scheduling not available
    • No acceptance of local hires or pending licenses
    • Must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission

    This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with required certifications and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, ready to work night shifts in an acute care hospital setting with a 1:3 patient ratio.
