Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend (EOW), 36 hours per week

Unit & Patient Population

• Inpatient medical telemetry unit with 24 private rooms
• Adult medical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 RN to 4-5 patients
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
• Floating and rotating shifts required, including coverage for open night shifts
• Ability to read cardiac telemetry strips is mandatory

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 3 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Ability to read cardiac telemetry strips
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Must be able to work rotating shifts and float as needed

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Tuberculosis (TB) test within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if there is a break >6 months
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed
• Documentation of MMR immunity or vaccination
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background check, Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, and exclusion checks required within specified timeframes
• Passing scores on medication and dysrhythmia exams (80% minimum) within 1 year
• Submission of 2 professional references (minimum 1 supervisor) within 4 years
• Completion of skills checklist within 1 year
• Submission of a detailed resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any start date changes

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity is strongly preferred but optional
• Tdap vaccination preferred within 10 years
• Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential documentation

This role is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts, telemetry monitoring, and working in a fast-paced inpatient environment with rotating schedules.
