Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Travel Position
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Job Overview
- Work primarily in the Operating Room (OR) department.
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 guaranteed hours per week.
- Call requirements include weeknight and weekend call.
- Float requirements apply (may be asked to work in other units).
- Facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 190 beds, providing a range of specialty services including trauma, cardiovascular, cancer, orthopedic, women’s and children’s health, and primary care.
- The OR is equipped with advanced technology such as robotics, microscopes, lasers, DaVinci surgical system, and navigation systems for craniotomy.
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems used: EPIC and Omnicell.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Trauma experience
- Bariatric experience
- ENT Surgery experience
- OB/GYN experience
- Neurology experience
- Orthopedic Surgery experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Work Environment & Culture
- Scrub color provided (navy blue).
- The hospital is a teaching facility accredited by the Joint Commission.
- Located in a city with access to cultural activities and outdoor recreation including skiing, fishing, hiking, and kayaking.

- The position involves working in a high-acuity trauma environment with diverse surgical cases.
- Candidates should be comfortable with a fast-paced OR setting and flexible with call and float duties.
